Vanda Theophin-Michael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with both a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Ms. Theophin-Michael holds active licensure in multiple states and is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Provisional Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselor Interns.
For the past 17 years, Ms. Theophin-Michael has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has also worked with a wide variety of life issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, work and school stressors, grief and loss, as well as family, marriage and relationship difficulties. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including child welfare, juvenile justice, community mental health, hospice, and long-term care. Additionally, she has received advanced training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT).
Ms. Theophin-Michael has extensive experience in the implementation of client/family-centered and solution focus approaches and treatment interventions that are tailored to the unique needs of each new client. She adapts a systemic approach to strengthen client/family functioning in order to effectively reduce psychiatric symptoms.
